Broken Spohn TA

So I bought and installed a "Street Version" Spohn Torque Arm back in 2001. Since then, the car has seen maybe 30,000 street miles, and probably 50 quarter mile passes. Being that there is no warranty on Spohn products, I have no expectation other than having to buy a new one. The break happened right behind the slider, on the front 1/4 of the arm:

Being that I'm not overly thrilled with this break (yes I know it's 11 years old but it was definitely not abused on a 300 hp car) and that I'll likely have to spend another $400 on a new one... what other options are out there that I should consider? I'm going to reach out to Spohn tomorrow to discuss with them, but again I am assuming there isn't much they will offer given the age and lack of warranty.

Side note, I've had a vibration issue for a long time. I've adjusted pinion angle many times over the last 10 years after noticing the vibration getting worse. I am assuming the vibration was due to the arm failing over time (guess I'll find out once I get a new TA in there).

Chris

Re: Broken Spohn TA

Or... did the vibration cause the failure? Now I'm not as unhappy with Spohn considering the chicken or the egg argument...

You might touch base with the guys at UMI, also, and see what their warranty would be like. I was very happy with their customer service, and am happy to share that with everybody.

Chris:

Do you possibly have one of the original Spohn designs with the tubular slider in the front, and the long rubber bellows? They were a problem - mine bent, didn't fail with pretty substantial HP. And he took care of it. But given that it's more than 10 years old, I can understand why he might not.

PS: Sorry I missed you when you dropped off the spring compressor.

To be more accurate, they only do not warranty use on the Moser 12-bolt, because of the compromised Moser design with the 4 independant rear bracket bolts, rather then the two factory design thru-bolts that Strange uses. That's you only disclaimer that I've seen on the BMR website regarding the warranty.
