Bumpy Ride

Hi,

I have a 2000 Camaro SS and the suspension feels very stiff and the car feels every single bump on the road. I bought the car three years ago and the owner before me installed the Eibach Lowering Kit and added Koni 3 way adjustible shocks in the rear. The car came with 19 inch chrome rims with low profile tires and I put the old rims back on. That helped, but it still hasn't solved the problem. The car handles great, but the ride is sooo terrible. What do I need to do to make the car ride smoother? Should I go back to the factory Springs and struts?

Thanks,
Matt

Keep the Koni's, and does it also have koni's up front to?
Also if the car still has the rear bumpstop spacers installed go ahead and remove them.
And what color springs are on the car , red (sportline, really low) or charcoal (pro-kit, low).
If you have the sportsline springs get different springs.
If the tire pressure's set above 32ps, lower it.
And try setting the koni's to a softer setting.

Thanks, my car has the pro-kit. I'm actually not sure if the Koni's are in the front. The shocks in the front are yellow. I will set the rear shocks to a softer setting and if I remove the bumpstop spacers don't I risk bottoming out?

I looked at the previous owner's invoice and I do have Koni gas Shocks in the front and they were installed about 64,000 miles ago...... So, does anyone know how long these shocks should last? I lived in a town with really bad roads and it probably shortened the life.

Thanks

I don't know how to adjust the front ones. Do I have to remove them to adjust them? Thanks.

Nope, no shock removal just jack up the front and remove the wheel, then look between the gaps in the spring for this (yellow part):
