c5 brake conversion?

c5 brake conversion?
i came across a set of brand new Baer EradiSpeed Plus rotors for a 98-04 c5 for a price i couldnt turn down. I already have a set of EradiSpeed Plus camaro rotors on the car with less than 5k miles on them. I need some opionions...should I:
1: buy the bracket to moun the bigger rotors but use my stock calipers? This way I can either get C5 calipers later, or fill up the space in the rim better. And keep/sell the stock eradispeed rotors...
or...
2: sell the c5 rotors and use the money for something else...STB and Adj Panhard bar...etc...
opinions please.
thanks~

Re: c5 brake conversion?
Well you have half the parts for the conversion now i would buy the brackets and use the stock calipers. If you do a search there are some differences between your calipers and the C5s but not enough to warrent buying new calipers when yours are fine. When you need new calipers then get the C5s.

Re: c5 brake conversion?
i think im just going to sell them and get more suspension upgrades. there only .25" bigger than what I have, and my setup works pretty good. its new, and when i need new brakes, ill convert then.
on that note...anyone wanna buy a brand new set of EradiSpeed Plus rotors for a 97-04 C5 corvette?

Re: c5 brake conversion?
The C5 rotors are a full inch bigger then the LS1 rotors. Going to them made a big difference (I also installed Hawk HPS pads at the same time) on my car over the basic LS1 upgrade I already had.

on the ls1 brakes, the c5's are only .25" bigger. its not a big difference. I jsut put new EradiSpeed Brakes on the car less than 5,000 miles ago. they work great. I am just going to sell the C5 brakes.
anyone interested? Brand new 2 piece, cross drilled & slotted. Baer EradiSpeed Plus front rotors...

Re: c5 brake conversion?
C5 advantages
1) The c5 caliper is pressure case instead of gravity cast aluminum, has stiffening ribs that run the entire width of the caliper and as a result are much stiffer than the LS1 calipers (less likely to experience caliper spread)
2) You have a lot more pad choices with C5 calipers over LS1 calipers. Consumble parts (i.e. pads/rotors) are much cheaper.
Most ppl who roadrace fbodies will tell you that the eradispeeds are waste of money. Sure look pretty, but not worth it over std issue c5 rotors.

Re: c5 brake conversion?
on the LS1 the rotor is 12.5 inches. the c5 is 12.75 inches. you can use the rotor, but you have to get a bracket for the LS1 caliper.
as stated before, i am going to sell the rotors considering i just did my brakes less than 5,000 miles ago.
