Yeah, you are not likely to crack a drilled rotor in regular street use. I have Baer drilled rotors and they are not cracked.

Where can you get this for $549 at?

I've been researching the C5 v/s Baer upgrade since I put my car away for the winter. With 12 years/40K on my front brakes, its time for an upgrade to support future mods. My problem--if you could call it a problem--is that the C5 brakes wont fit the 17" ROH wheels used on the 93-94 Firehawks. The Baer kit seems like the next best bet, but I've been hesitant to drop the money on them. $549 would be the cheapest I've seen them...

So unless anyone else has any other ideas, Baer it is.....

The brackets didn't flex, the calipers would spread under high loads. As I stated above, I believe Baer fixed this issue.

I'm happy with my Baer kit but if the C5 setup clears your rims, go the C5 route.

Re: c5 brake kit vs. Baer track kit

texas speed has the bear track kit for 549 right now. i was just quoted 658 plus shipping fpr the c5 conversion kit with drilled and slotted rotors from Kore 3. does the track kit fit inside more wheels or something? from what i understand, the track kit used a slightly bigger rotor than the c5 conversion kit.

Oh, yeah, I've heard about Baer's calipers spreading.

Re: c5 brake kit vs. Baer track kit

i did the c5 kit. no drilled rotors though...they'll crack. i know of about 6 guys who have cracked drilled rotors. the slotted will help wet performance. you should find a place to cut the rotors before you buy them. there's noone in this general area who will cut drilled or slotted rotors...so that means buying new ones when they warp...and you'll know when they warp too. it will vibrate horribly so and it also cracks pads. gm dealers sell 2 kinds of caliper kits...just the caliper, or a rebuilt kit that includes the abutment bracket and shims. just the brackets are about 50 bucks...plus the rebuilt kits are cheaper than the new calipers to begin with.
