C5 brakes

Re: C5 brakes
Do a search for Bob Bishop. Or do a search for his username lateapex both on this board and on www.frrax.com . His brackets are now being manufactured and sold by http://www.speedspecialty.com/store/...=c5fbodybrakes . In my opinion, they are the best. Yes, they do cost a little more than others, but as said many times before you get what you pay for. I purchased a set from Bob's first batch of aluminum brackets and they have performed flawlessly. Many months of R&D and testing went into the design of Bob's brackets. I've spent hours on the phone discussing brakes with Bob. When it comes to brake safety, this guy takes **** to the next level.

Re: C5 brakes
If those eBay brackets were not Bob Bishop's brackets, I guarantee they were knock off's and lower quality. He uses the best quality aluminum for the task (forget the grade), shot-peened, ARP bolts, etc. Unless you found some Bishop's brackets, they were probably knock off's and lower quality. Maybe its just me, but brakes and steering are 2 places that I do NOT want to skimp on quality.

Re: C5 brakes
There are Bob Bishop brackets and then all the crap that was modeled after Bob's brackets. I wont support all of the ******* vendors that just copied his design. An incredible amount of time and engineering went into his brackets. And the materials used in the cheap brackets ARE NOT the same as what Bishop used.

Re: C5 brakes
Baer's brackets are steel, where Bishop's are aluminum. He researched and developed his own design to use aluminum rather than steel to shed unsprung weight while still being strong enough for road racing use.
