C5 brakes installed
Just got them on tonight finally, the only thing i regret is not doing it sooner. There is no comparison, it stops very well now. I used drilled and slotted rotors that i had dipped in zinc, stainless steel brakelines, and a stock type cerami pad. The pedal feel is very good and the install only took a little less than 3 hours. I would recommend this setup to anyone.

For street driving, they wont stop the car in any shorter a distance than the stock LT1 brakes with good pads, being as how the stock brakes can attain the braking threshold of the car on street tires. This is of course in a one-stop panic stop situation. They will however offer greatly reduced fade on a road course or autocross course where the brakes are applied many times over and over. The better pedal feel is a result of the smaller total piston surface area of the calipers, as compared to the stock LT1 caliper.
I love mine, but admittedly, they're only for looks when it comes to normal street driving
Keep an eye on your rotors as they will be prone to cracking (cross drilled).

yeah the drilled and slotted are just for looks and only get used on the street, i have solid rotors with hawk pads that i am going to run at the track. The stock brakes would fade fairly easily before, i am sure these will be much better. I have never had a problem with them cracking on any of the cars i have put them on but they do not see the extreme heat that they would on the track either.
