GM Parts List for 93-02 F-body C5 Front Brake Conversion
Below are all of the GM parts necessary for the conversion:
GM Part # Quantity Description
12530682 1 Right front caliper (standard C5)
12530683 1 Left front caliper (standard C5)
10445856 1 Right front rotor
10445857 1 Left front rotor
12455799 2 Pad abutment bracket
22163727 2 Front caliper brake hose
12530697 4 Pad abutment guide pin
12530703 4 Guide pin boot
22163795 2 Banjo bolt
10139097 4 Banjo bolt copper washers
GM parts list notes:
If you want the red Z06 calipers, use PN#s 88895128 and 88895129 in place of caliper PN#s above
The guide pin bolts come with the calipers, so they are not listed as a part number above.
Delete the brake hoses if you plan to use aftermarket braided lines
If you have an LS1 car, the front banjo bolts should fit the C5 calipers, but for the minor expense it may be worth it to have a new set rather than having to swap the old bolts over
GM Part # Quantity Description
12480154 1 set Hawk HP+ Front Pad set
18039366 1 set Durastop Front pad set
88909667 1 set Durastop Ceramic front pad set (w/springs & shims)
88952008 1 set Z06 front brake pad set (w/springs & shims)
NAPA # 83212 2 Springs & Shims "Caliper Hardware Kit"
GM brake pads list notes:
Neither the Durastops nor the Hawk pads come with the anti-rattle springs and pad abutment shims. The Z06 pads do come with those parts. The Durastop Ceramic pads also come with the springs & shims. You can get the shims & springs in NAPA part # 83212. You will need a quantity of 2, price each is about $20.50 and it is called a Caliper Hardware Kit.
The Durastop Ceramic pads are not recommended for track use. The ceramic material acts as an unsulator, not conducting heat away from the rotor. The result is you can warp a set of rotors very quickly. However, they are a good street pad because they have very low dusting. For a mostly-show car these would be a good choice.

Re: C5 conversion question
thanks for all the info thats awsome, is there an actual difference between z06 and regular c5 calipers? I work at napa so i already have loaded c5 calipers with good pads in them i they are ready to bolt on so all i should need is the banjo bolt and the lines right? Is it worth getting braided and do i just order them for like a 2000 C5
Thanks again

Re: C5 conversion question
C5 and ZO6 calipers are identical, sans color. As for brake lines, I have the stock C5 lines on mine and they work just fine, on or off the track. Most people that get braided lines dont need them. All you have to do to make the C5 lines work is grind off a couple of the alignment tangs on the car side of the line where it attaches to the hard line. Not a big deal.

When I got my front hoses from GM they cam with the tab that mounts on hte frame. I unbolted the Firebird tabs from the frame and cut off the hole the brake line goes through. I did the same on the Corvette bracket. I weled the hole for the line off the Corvette tab on to the Firebird bracket. This way I did not have to grind the little "ears" off the Corvette hose. If I ever want to go Stainless the Corvette ones fit on with no mods.
