c5 Front Brakes - What to do on rear?

Its brake job time. Going to order the full UMI C5 kit. Also just going to get new rear rotors, lines (front and rear) new fluid, etc. But I need recommendations on rear pads? Is it best to get the Hawk HPS pads to match whats going up front or go with something more basic? Everyone talks about getting the front done with no mention of the rear brakes which I know are not as important but just want some advice. Thanks.

From what I have read, the rear brakes contribute 30% of the stopping power. Whiel you are upgrading the front, why not the back? I believe that the rear brakes on an ls1 fbody are the same size as the c5's(which have an inch in size over the LT1 brakes). Just do the LS1 Brake swap on the back. You need new pads anyway, put them towards the LS1 brakes.

I've heard you need to swap in Ls1 rear axles to use the Ls1 rear brakes on an Lt1. Probably not worth the hassle for most people.

You cannot swap ls1 rear brake directly on a a lt1 f-body.You need a rear axle of an ls1.The e-brake sytem is not the same.

Just put some good disc and good brake pads for the rear and everything should be fine .

When I put my C5 brakes on the front I just installed Powerslot rotors with Hawk HPS pads on the rear. It was a nice improvement. Now I've got Stock LS1 brakes on the rear with half worn OEM pads, they work significantly better than the LT1 brakes with Hawk pads.

I can't wait to install the Hawk Pads and better rotors on the rear.

i just went with a complete ls1 rear. sooner or later i may put the c5 rear calipers on too....probably not though.

i wouldnt upgrade unless it's for bling. not really worth the hassle or money involved...again unless it's for show only

I've got some LS1 axles I'd sell if it was worth it to you. Can check on shipping if you'd be interested.

I put an LS1 rear in my '95 so I had to put my axles in the LS1 rear so my LT1 brakes would fit.
