Camber/caster settings

Camber/caster settings
I am aligning my own camaro and I need to know what kind of caster/camber settings I need to make. I just need to know how many degrees I should set them to. It is a dd and stock settings would probably be fine unless you have any other suggestions. I have hear that the toe in measurement needs to see about 1/8" smaller in the front to accomodate for the slack in the tie rod ends, bearings, ball joints ect. Is this correct?

Re: Camber/caster settings
From my '95 GM shop manual.
Front (Set)
Caster +4.4 +/_ .5
Cross Caster 0.0 +/_ .5
Camber +0.4 +/_ .5
Cross Camber 0.0 +/_ .7
Individual Toe 0.0 +/_ .1
Total Toe 0.0 +/_ .2
Rear is fixed unless you have a major problem.

Re: Camber/caster settings
Ummmmm I guess I don't understand the table you made. honestly I don't even know what cross caster and cross camber actually are. I just thought there was caster, camber and toe in/out. Could someone explain what the number before the +/_ means and after the +/_ I am ordering a shop manual but I don't have it yet and I need to get this taken care of. thanks alot.

Cross Camber/Caster is the difference from left side to right side.
All measurements are in degrees.
+ caster is the top of the steering knuckle tilted back towards the center of the car.
+ camber is top of the tire tilted ******ds.
+4.4 +/_ .5 means plus or minus .5 from the desired measurement, I.E. +3.9 to +4.9.
Any alignment shop will know what it means.
