Can I do this in the Driveway?

You probably should have posted this in the Suspension/Steering/Alignment forum and I'm sure it will be moved. Anyways, I was able to do my panhard rod in my driveway. Just keep the rearend supported at all times with a floorjack or jackstands.

Whether or not the bolts are rusted is the main determinant as to whether its a 10 min job or a hour long job. I just changed to an adjustable bar on my 94 this wkend, it took a breaker bar with a pipe extension and a lot of cursing to get those damn bolts free. I suggest spraying the bolts liberally with pentrating fluid prior to any wrenching.

It's easy..Lifted the rear and put it on stands...took the old stabalizer bar out. I put my Adjustable Spohn bar in and used their bolt kit. Since the bar was already measured up I had no probs but referenced the bar off the old one anyways. If your doing an even swap and haven't lowered your car in the process.....Make sure your new bar and old bar are the same length and the bolt holes line up really good. Then put the new bar in and the bolts should go through and line up fine. If not and off a hair, have a buddy gently push a tiny bit on the rearend to the side a lil to help slide the bolt in of the side your finishing up on.

Well i took it into my mechanics shop to do it just in case they bolts were seized.
I have a good deal of KM on the car (200,000 km) and its been driven in lots of wet winters here. The bolts still came loose with the help of a breaker bar.
I did put new bolts in after though since they were pretty mangled up![Smilie](https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
IT should be doable in the driveway from what i saw.
Jack the car up such that the rear is extended down all the way.
Remove both bolts and nutz on the PHB.
Measure the new PHB against hte old so its set to the same size. Insert the bar in. (Alternativly, if your having a hard time installing the new bar at that size, adjust it up or down so it linesu p with the holes. THen adjust the bar on the car after if its adjustable.)
Bolt her back up like before and your good to go
