Can I replace the brake master reservoir without bleeding??

I just bought my T/A, and the reservoir is cracked, and needs replacement.
I would like to know if I can just replace the reservoir without needing to bleed the brakes?
My thinking is that since I'm just removing the reservoir, the master is still full and I should be ok, but, I've been known to be wrong...

I'm assuming you will have to suck out the brake fluid and then remove the reservoir (you don't want to get any brake fluid on any painted surface-it will ruin the paint). You then replace the reservoir and refill it. As long as you don't touch the brakes and pump any air into the system, I would think you should be ok.

Thanks for the quick reply shoebox. That was exactly my thinking. I'll use a turkey baster to get the old fluid out then change it out.
