Can you turn the bottom of the front strut?

I'm just going to put my front springs and shocks in. I had the strut mounts transferred over by a shop.

So when I go to install them, when the strut mount is in the upper control arm, the bolt holes at the base of the strut to attach to the lower control arm are angled the opposite way.

Can I spin them 180 somehow?

Just re-angled the part in the bushing at the bottom?

If you are interested in helping other people out, please tell what you did. Generally, you have to compress the spring enough to take the pressure off and then you can re-orient the mounting position.

That didn't work on my Bilsteins, I had to compress the spring and rotate the shock bottom 180 degrees.

When looking at the bottom of the shock, I was thinking about angle of the bolt hole mount relative to the angle of the a-arm. IIRC, you can spin it in the bottom bushing. Now if it was twisted to where the holes didn't lineup, then compressing the spring is really the only way to get it to twist. I had to do it around 3 or 4 times each side when doing mine.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to take out the Eibachs and put my stock springs back in up front. I need a little weight transfer now when I use the bottle.

Went I went back out into the garage - I realized how stupid my question was. Then again, everyone has a brain fart now and then so to aid the others in what I did - I put both feet on the bottom of the strut (either side) and turned the strut mount by hand. (2 hands)

I actually remembered when I first got the DMS springs on and the shop guy swapped everything - he turned the strut mounts that was as well.

It was a bit stiff at first but it does allow you to rotate it somewhat.

I tried re-angling the bushing at the bottom and that was definitely a no-go. Tried using 2 large screwdrivers in the bolt holes and that bushing didn't want to turn. Well I only applied enough pressure I was comfortable with in fear of damaging something.
