car will not stop sometimes
okay this is really my brothers problem and he isnt willing to fix it. he is hopeing it will fix itself. he has a 95 firebird with v6. here recently when he goes to stop the low traction light comes on and he has basically no brakes. we thought it could be the brake pads. his old ones were the original gm ones. i called him and idot for not changing those a long time ago. anyways we got those change all around. car stopped better but still has the same problem. when the brakes are applied it glides and will not stop. any clue what the problem may be and how to fix it?

Re: car will not stop sometimes
On cars without traction control, the "LOW TRAC" light indicates the ABS has activated. I've seen this happen with problems with the rear sensor on the differential housing. Check it and see if its coated with metal particles.
The car will brake normally, until its down to about 5MPH. Then the ABS activates, and it takes you about twice as long as you planned to stop. Appears one of the sensors is suddenly going to "0" pulses as the true speed nears "0", the EBCM thinks the wheel has locked up and activates the ABS when it isn't required.

I know the front sensors are on the back side of the hub. Is just a simple connector to take them off. You should be able to turn the wheels all the way to a certain side and be able to access it.
