Complete LT1 too LS1 Brake Swap

Complete LT1 too LS1 Brake Swap
I bought LS1 Calipers, Rotors, and brackets... I was wondering if I needed the spindles, knuckle, brake lines, and master cylinder to make this swap complete. Just the front brakes are being swapped... not the rear.

yup you need the spindles. they are different. LT1/LS1 are the same hubs and the LT1 lines could be used with some provisions. LS1 lines are a little better but still are tight

Re: Complete LT1 too LS1 Brake Swap
I just did this swap a few weeks ago.. and a couple of notes
I have never removed spindles/knuckles prior to this job before, and according to all of the articles that I read prior to doing this, everyone said that you can just use a large hammer to remove the spindles.
my own expieriece was that after trying a hammer for 3 hours, I still did not have either one of the spindles off, I went to autozone and bought a couple of "pullers" and then had the spindles off in 10 minutes.. my advice is to go get a couple of different size pullers before starting this job.
other than that, you may also need some new copper seals for where the brake lines connect to the caliper, I couldn't get mine to stop leaking until I put new seals in.
finally, my stock brake lines are fine with no modification to the "brackets" as you will see mentioned a lot... I have a '97 though .. not sure if it matters.
good luck
