I believe the stock rotors are like that and they suck!
Drilled slotted rotors are eye candy only. Do not buy them thinking they're the epitomy of braking performance. Instead invest money in better pads and get some heavier stock replacement rotors.

Very true

Also when you drill and slot a cast rotor you weaken it, and they will get stress cracks.
If you want the eye candy look make sure they are cast with the holes at least.
But if you ask me it just reduces the surface area that the pad can contact, and modern pads dont have gasses that need to be vented.

Not all 2 piece rotors are bad... floating rotor brake designs are pretty much the top of the line for street cars... but the rotor you linked to aint in that category. At the inexpensive end of the spectrum I think your best bet is a traditional one piece design.

Re: Composite rotors vs cast rotors?
thank you for all your inputs. i am getting a set of drilled and slotted rotors for my 94. i will let ya'll know how they perform on my car. i got them at a great deal.

Re: Composite rotors vs cast rotors?
i'll ask one question and tell my side of the answer.
WHAT KIND OF ROTORS DO F-1 SUPERCARS USE, CIRCLE TRACK CARS USE, AND NASCAR CARS USE?
answer is blanks. because they are cheap, work just fine under extreme conditions, and don't crack under stress.
blanks are used for all serious racers because they are just fine for what they are used for. they are used for extreme braking and dont need the reliefs for "gasses" that are formed from technology that was outdated years ago. they dont need to be "cooled" by air flowing insid the wheel because they have vents in them. blanks are fine for a NASCAR driver and they are fine for me. i just went with the c5 brake upgrade and i bought brembo blanks for it. i'm sure i'll be fine.

Having said that, what's so bad about a little bit of eye candy on a street car? As long as you understand that its functionally a step backwards, if it turns you on, do it.
