Question Cooling tanks

Not use to forum new member hope i am posting in right area..I have cooling tanks (plastic) on an 87 Z-28 which has never been changed from new ,was wondering how you guys think would cause them to crack open.Eng. temp is normal no over heating problems.I'm thinking break down with age.THANKS

Welcome. You posted in the Suspension/Brakes section. I suggest you post in the 3rd Gen/L98 Engine section to get the best replies.

I used to have an 85 firebird, so I know what you are refering to. They dry out over time. Yeah, even if there is water/coolant in them. It happens.
