could my shock be sticking??

in my 01 ss, everytime i get on uneven terrain such as going over a speed bump a very very loud pop comes from the back right of my car. Sometimes when i park my car, turn engine off, and step out of the car this BAM! comes from the back right of the car. it sounds like someone hit my rear end with a sledge hammer. Is it possible for one of my shocks to get stuck and finally give all at once creating this noise???? any help will be appreciated.

Jack up the car and take a look...if it's doing that while the car is parked I think your problem would be easy to spot. I don't think the shock can get "stuck" as it is stretched by the coil spring; shocks usually fail by losing their fluid/pressure and no longer dampen the spring (car bounces up and down).
