Question Custom Suspention

I got this crazy idea in my head the other day. In the past I was looking for aftermarket lowering springs. They cost $$ for our cars while they are cheap for other vehicles.

I've seen people cut their factory springs to lower the car but I hate that idea. It really messes up the spring rate w/ progressive springs and doesn't help the handling.

This gave me an idea though. Has anybody around here found a good spring like off a truck or something w/ the proper spring rate and cut this? If so whats a good spring rate to look for and what vehicles could these possibly be plundered from in the junk yard?

I'm looking to reduce some body roll and lower the car an 1.5" or so. Want linear springs too.

Thanks for your help!
