The AXLES will interchange. The 2.73 CARRIER and 3.42 CARRIER are NOT interchangable though ... 2.73 is 2-series, 3.42 is 3-series.
What exactly is broke that you need to replace? If you're looking at putting 2.73's into your M6 ... well, I guess so?
You'll never see 6th gear again!!
