DIY 4th gen bolt on sfcs

I want to make my own subframe connectors and I know it won't be very easy but just tell me how. I saw a guide on 3rd gens where they just take 2x2 boxed steel and weld it on. Can i do the same thing on my 4th gen or do i need to do something else? Where can i get this metal from? I haven't paid too much attention but what would it bolt on to?
