does an LS1 steering linkage fit an LT1?

it seems i destroyed my linkage putting it back in after a header install. It wouldnt go on, so i had to use force and that didnt go so well I have about 2" of play in the wheel now. Anyway, i got a line on an LS1 linkage and im wondering if itll fit.

edit: I have pacesetter LTs if that makes a difference.

Yes it will fit, but it will cause the steering wheel to be very off of center which will only be annoying. You will need an alignment to center up the wheel.

I put the shaft from the steering shaft to the rack and pinion from an LS1 and it worked. Ya will have to align the front end to center the steering wheel(maybe). It gets rid of the rag joint and a hell of a lot more clearance.
There is no center spot in a rack and pinion like in a sector of old.

Getting rid of the rag joint is a plus. You will need to align.
I am going to do a rag joint eliminator on my current shaft sometime soon.

That still doesn't get rid of the big flanges that bolt to the cloth.

What is the issue with the big flanges?
If its clearance then that is not a concern to me. My headers don't come close to these flanges.
