Drag Rear Launch

Learnin the suspension world so ima noob. Have done searches and get 2 different answers with 50/50 opinions. For rear spring rates what is the best for launch traction and E.T.s- lower or higher lbs/in rates? And what would be the best option for me i have v6 93-97 ( SR 95.4 lbs/in), ws6 98-02(SR 130-180lbs/in) and v6 pro kit 93-97 (SR 75-135 lbs/in)

and can some body explain what progressive rates mean? for i.e. SLP Level 1 front SR is 223-448lbs/in. Would this give you good weight transfer without the nosedive during braking? thanks guys

When launching a car its about weight transfer. You want most the weight to transfer to the back, and plant the wheels in to the ground. As for what type of springs for drag racing, I can't help you there.

The progressives mean the springs are a certain rate until they reach a compressed limit, and then the spring changes to another rate. Here's a picture of a progressive spring.

The springs compress until the tighter coiled part touches, then the other part of the spring (that has a different coil, or wind to it) starts to compress, and it's a different rate hence making it a progressive spring.

Ya need lighter all the way around.
"bout $1000.00 worth of shocks-Koni double adjustable,maybe QA-1's
Lower the car 1" maybe 2"-and relocation brackets on the rear housing, good torque arm,LCA's and tires.
Ya can't worry 'bout dive and drag race too. Start stopping earlier.
It will never hook HARD and be a corner carver too.It won't be undriveable either with the correct stuff.

My 2 cents worth, leave the springs alone and buy a chassis mounted adj. TA. What are your 60 ft. times by the way?

^ before you really mess with suspension, get some tubular lca's, and a torque arm.

cars do not squat if everything else is right, do not waste any energy!
I ran stock springs and shocks in the rear, QA1s up front on full loose.
Spohn Rear Drag bar with Adj TA and LCA/PHR that I built.

with the TA youre just adjusting pinion angle correct? with adj LCAs i thought you pretty much leave them stock length

Correct on the TA, and you are gaining strength over the stamped steel unit.
Adj LCAs you use to center the rear in the car, most start at stock and adjust from there.
