e-brake question

Couple of days ago I pulled up my e-brake and there was no resistance on it at all...just went straight up. I put it down and pulled it up again...this time it had resistance and only came up a few clicks.

It did that for 2 days...now there is no resistance at all...it goes straight up everytime I try to pull it.

Anyone ever dealt with this? What fixed your problem?

TIA!

There's a pawl that engages a ratchet. Try lubing it. The problem actually led to a recall in the early year 4th Gens.... mine was serviced with the fix by the dealer before he delivered it to me, and it still did it a few times over the first 5 years I owned it.
