Question EBC Greenstuff???

Who has experience with theses? How are they as far as noise, longevity, and dusting? I dont need something that is awesome on the track, cuz ill never be there, I just need something that will last long on the street and will be quiet and wont cover my wheels with dust everyday. I am also looking at Satisfied Pro Stop Ceramic Pads. Anyone got any experience with these also? Thanks a bunch in advance!

Greenstuffs are great street pads. You'll love 'em.

I used the greenstuff when it first came out and the corvetteforum was raving about it as well. It became one of my favorite street/performance pads. It doesn't dust much, no noise at all, and stop on a dime.

Then shortly afterward maybe about 3K miles, when I check my brakes to switch over to PFC 01 pads and blank rotors for the track, I notice that the passenger side pad has gouged about 1/8" into my zinc-washed-cross-drilled-slotted-cryotreated rotors! Then I found out that other people are experiencing premature wear of the green stuff. So now I would not recommend this. Note that this is just one experience so it may had been a bad pad or something else.\

If you don't need stopping power and want something that last long, than any stock replacement will be good. You can consider the Performance Friction street pads from (not sure) Pepboys or Autozone, which are life time warranty. You can pay for one set and keep getting new ones for free!

Personally I don't like the Performance Friction pads. They made strange noises on my left rear and were prone to fade under hard braking on the front. Plus any pad that is hard enough to have a lifetime warranty has to be hard on rotors. I'd rather have pads wear out than rotors.

Re: EBC Greenstuff???

I have about 10,000 miles on my Green Stuff pads and have not had any issues. I'm still using the stock caliper. I drove a LS1 car at Bragg-Smith two years ago and the brakes felt better on my car with the Green Stuff pads.

I used Autozones Performance Friction pads on my 98 Dodge Ram. It made a night and day difference in brake performance with about normal dusting. I also used Napa's Ceramic pads on my sons 95 Camaro. They also work awsome with next to no dust. Neither of these pads caused rotor wear issues.

You decide

Re: EBC Greenstuff???

I've had them on my black car since 02 now, and the brakes on that car (I have Hawks Pro Stop slotted rotors) feel better than the brakes on my Purple Pearl cars LS1 front brake conversion.
