Excessive axle end play/rear caliper rattle

Excessive axle end play/rear caliper rattle
I was just under Project SS Red Devil, a '99 SS Camaro, and all the mounting
bolts seem tight. There is an annoying "rattle" at slow speeds that seems to
be more than the box of rocks Torsen sound. It seems to have a lot of axle
end play, as I can move both axles in and out a lot. I had the axle apart to
swap the shafts from a blown 3.23 to the good 2.73 Z28 axle it now has. The
pinion bearing went south in the 3.23. Can I order a new paddle and c-clips &
install them? Anyone try this to tighten up the axle some? It seems like you
can get the rear to wiggle at speed on the freeway by shifting the steering
wheel back and forth just slightly. I have never noticed this on my LT1 cars,
just this LS1 (this is our first LS1 Camaro). I also noticed that the caliper is
very easy to move in the caliper bracket. This is the sliding main caliper itself
on the sliders not the mounting bracket that is attached to the axle bracket. I
hope that makes sense. The actual bolts that hold the caliper assembly are at
the proper torque.
Thanks in advance.

I am the only one that has this problem? I had the wife
pick up the additive that supposedly quiets the gears in
the Torsen. Or actually, what IS the GM PN on it before
I open it up.
