F-Body Brakes?

Any one know how much they cost? Are they readily availible? I'd like to upgrade to the stock F/B-body brakes if I can. If I can scrape enough money together, I'll consider the 12" Baer kit. I totaled my T-Type recently when I couldnt stop. I wont make the same mistake twice, IF my ins. company doesnt total it. Where should I look for these? Need spindle/rotor/caliper/etc.

Any help appreciated.

Re: F-Body Brakes?

You can pickup some PowerSlot rotors and Hawk pads for pretty cheap. Rotors are like $100 each and pads are like $55 for rear, $80 for front. Somewhere around there. I had them on one of my cars, worked great, never had problems with warping or anything.

Re: F-Body Brakes?

I'm only looking for the fronts. How scarce are the whole kits? I'd want something to just throw on as a basic stock F-car front set-up and go from there. Going to discs in the rears its out. PITA if ya ask me. Anything else?

Thanks.

Re: F-Body Brakes?

Well, a basic Baer system for the fronts will run you $680+ or so. You can find brake systems at most fbody pages.

Re: F-Body Brakes?

Aren't Gbodys already using the same as 3rdGen Fbody brakes stock? The pads I know are the same.

Re: F-Body Brakes?

The ls1 brakes are a really good improvement over the lt1 brakes... i got some used ones on ebay for under 200, and then bought some new rotors (autozone ones, which i heard are pretty good) and some pads.... they work alot better

Re: F-Body Brakes?

Please use a tech section for questions like this. In this case, the "Suspension, Chassis and Brakes" section would be best. You might have missed it. I'll move this there now.
