Funny Brake Sounds?

Hey, my car has been making funny sounds every time I step on the brakes. It's been happening for the last month or so and I'm confused as to exactly what it is. It's like kinda sounds like a blender but not as fast. It's coming from the engine bay and like I said it's only when I step on the brakes. Can anyone explain to me what this may be? I'm trying to avoid taking it to a mechanic so I can save money. Thanks

You need to give us basic info about your car - year, model, etc. The built F-Bodys for 36 years.

Have you inspected the brake system??? How old are the pads???? Metal to metal contact could sound like a blender...

Well I haven't fully checked them out yet but the rear pads are about 2 yrs old as well as the rotors. As for the front pads and rotors I'm not too sure cause I bought my Z28 2 1/2 yrs ago. But the sounds seem to be coming from the engine bay which I think is strange. Otherwise the car drives just fine. I would just like to address it before it becomes a bigger problem.

Might be a leak in the brake booster.

Also I realized then when I turn the A/C on it stops.

@Injuneer - How much is the part and is that an expensive fix?

Thanks.
