gap at corner of t top trim

noticed today on my car, 98z with t tops a half inch gap on the passenger side corner. it looks like the trim piece along the top is pulled back. at the edge its about a half inch and it quickly in about a inch and a half is right back snug against the edge of the tops all the way to the other side. so whats up with it you dont notice unless you you are looking for it and it hasnt been wrecked or ran hard. do you guys think it could have came from the factory like that? it doesnt leak and its solid any ideas?
