Good price on Brembo blanks

Just ordered two rear Brembo rotors for my 96Z28 from autobarn.com for $166.40 w/ free shipping. We'll see how quick they get here. Just a heads up for those who are interested.

Re: Good price on Brembo blanks

yea, I was looking at the Brembo blanks as well. That's a good price for being shipped out the door. The sites I've been looking at have the rears being at $100ea, shipped.
I was wondering if you happen to have a digi camera, can you take a snaphot and send me a pic of them cuz I'm looking at Brembo's and I'm interested of what the material looks like.
Thanks.

Mike

Best price I found is through irotors.com. You have to call or email for the blanks, but by far the best price including shipping I've come across.

Re: Good price on Brembo blanks

Turns out that Autobarn had them drop shipped from the Brembo warehouse in California. I got them (live in Oregon) exactly 7 days after I placed my order. They were shipped via UPS. Shipping could have been quicker, but I guess I shouldn't be complaining for the price. Will install them this weekend.

Re: Good price on Brembo blanks

So... I only opened one of the brembo boxes the day that rotors showed up on my doorstop. I go to install the new pads and rotors a couple of days later, and to my suprise, find that the rotors look completely different. They look like they came from two different manufacturers, much less different castings. One rotor had a much more polished finish on the rotor surface, and the top of the hat was much more rounded. I don't get it. Both rotors came out of identical, sealed Brembo boxes that were sent from their warehouse in CA and both marked with the day they were shipped out. There were no fitment problems. Both are working fine. Can someone explain this one?

Re: Good price on Brembo blanks

So is it like two different finishes, one polished and one is dull looking? Do you have a digi cam handy so I can take a peek...
