HELP - can't tighten nut on 1LE lower ball joint
OK, so I just installed a set of brakes from an 02 SS, and while I was at it, I put in a set of 1LE lower front control arms with new ball joints included. My problem is that once the nut goes down the stud 1/2 inch or so, it meets resistance and the ball joint itself just spins and I cant get it to tighten.
Is it possible that the 1LE pieces require a different nut than the stock ball joint? If anyone knows of a link with that degree of detail, please post up. I did not have this problem when I had the control arms off before, so I'm at a loss.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: HELP - can't tighten nut on lower ball joint
I think that I just answered my own question. There is a seperate part number for the 1LE ball joint nut (10254330) I'll post this up in case anyone else has the same issue. If anyone can confirm this, please go ahead and post up.

The 1LE arm does list another nut. I ordered them and they worked on my 1LE arms. But they seemed to be identical to the stock nuts. I think it is a fine thread vs a corase thread
If your ball joint is spinning it might need to be replaced. It should not be able to spin at all. At least mine did not spin.

Re: HELP - can't tighten nut on lower ball joint
The ball joint on the arm was brand new. I picked up the new nuts yesterday, and they went on without any issues at all. I'm not sure of the difference in the threads, but I know that the old nut that I took off was a 24 mm, and the new one is a 22 mm. Going by how the old one would just get started on the stud and then stop makes me think that barnett is right about coarse vs. fine threads.
Anyway, if anyone gets 1LE lower control arms with the lower ball joint already installed don't forget the special ball joint nut (part #10254330). They were around $4 each from the local dealer.
