Help! need new shocks

Alright so my back end is really starting to sag, and needless to say it looks retarted. I need to get all new shocks, what should I buy? (whats the best bang for my buck?) I don't want to spend too much money, but I dont want el cheapo's either. Let me know.

If you want a lifetime shock, get KONI. They are the best and you won't regret it. The back end will be so stiff, it will be unbelieveable.

How much $$$ do you have to work with?

I have Bilsteins and love them to death. I believe I paid $400.

You can try to find a set of take-offs, but those are getting harder to come by.

Jeez, guys, I though shocks dampen the motion of the suspension, and don't provide a cure for "sag". It sounds more like you have a spring problem.

Springs hold the car up, so if it is sagging you will need springs. Shocks dampen the motion of springs. If you get new springs, you should probably get new shocks, since they will not likely be up tot the task of damping the motion of a good spring. Bilstien makes a good shock for the f-bod that isn't as expensive as Koni

Totally agree. Bilstein HDs (non-revalved) are stock replacements and not meant for stiffer springs. If you upgrade springs you need shocks that'll handle them, either revalves or Koni. Granted most drivers are still happy with the plain HD's on aftermarket springs.

I'm like a giddy school girl when driving with my KONI DA's. I have spent a month getting that perfect adjustment and I cannot believe how good these shocks are. Very pricey yes....lifetime warranty though. The car does not feel like a GM.

Re: Help! need new shocks

My vote goes to go thru stranoparts.com, and setup a time to talk to Sam himself about what to do.. He's a real nice guy and really knows his stuff (not only f-bod's too). Just tell him whats going on, and what you want to achive, and he'll lay out the options for you..

and tell us what you end up getting too
