identify unknown rubber on front shock mount
These are pictures of an unknown (to me) rubber cushion in the front upper shock mount of a 1995 Camaro.
The unknown cushion is between the dog-bone and the body.
The flatter part or bottom of the cushion sits on top of the dogbone.
The ring fits in to a recess of the body.
Is this rubber orderable?
What purpose does it serve?
I have all the other parts new and hate to put this back in used.
You can click on the pics for a larger view.
The first pic has what looks like a part number of 22112178. Part number does not show up on any parts fiche.
The last pic shows the order of assembly.

Re: identify unknown rubber on front shock mount
Was 17999212 a part that you have ordered? I am not sure if the above it is as I have always thought the exploded view of the shock/spring assy was a bit off, somehow (which is not all that uncommon).
[edit]
Looking now at some of my old pics and the diagram again, I don't think the part number above is it. I actually don't see it listed or shown. Doesn't it just sit on the top? I can see the imprint of it on the underside of the top of the shock tower in my old pics. LOL, I would have to take my car apart again to look at it.

Re: identify unknown rubber on front shock mount
My point of the post is whether these can be ordered and what their purpose is.
Any insight?
Thanks
