First off get some lower control arms if you don't have them. You may want to get LCA relocation brackets as well if your getting wheel hop. Also, what tires are you running? You can have great suspension components, but if you have crappy tires, it's going to suck.

I had bad wheel hop and installed the SLP lower control arms and the panhard bar and the poly bushings and it really helped. There are some real sticky tires for the street and slicks for the track. They wear out a lot faster but it sounds like its not a real concern now. What brand and size are you currently using?

What is a "400 cam"?

A well-built 383, with good heads, the correct cam and a good exhaust system should smoke a WRX STI. Even if he jumps you off the line, you should blow his doors off. The more details you can provide about the engine, the better people will be able to tell you what you need to do to the suspension and drivetrain to maximize performance. Are you racing on the street or on a prepped track?

Let's move this to "Suspension........" forum.

i'm gonna suggest tires

made all the difference for me. on the track of course.

515 rwhp is a pretty stout car. and if you can't absolutely decimate an STi, you got something wrong. (btw, is this STi stock, bolt ons, or a hihp guy) i was hanging with my buddy's 530awhp STi at the track when i had my ET streets on. my car only makes about 400 at the motor on the bottle. we were both running 11.9s/12.0's all night. on a stock suspension.

get some nice tires before you blame the suspension

The MTs on a second set of wheels is the way to go, if you need traction at the track.

Are you guessing or have you had it on a dyno?

Im putting down close to 450 at the wheels with my setup with a stock suspension. Its really not that bad...
