Just had my alignment done and the car has play in the steering wheel.

I did a search and found that the common sources for steering wheel play are the rag joint, worn tie rod ends and play in the rack and pinion. Well this seems to be more of the tie rods or rack and pinion because it will pull to the left from time to time and other times it drives straight. I have a rag joint eliminator that I am going to install. Any way to tell if the play I have is elsewhere?

get under the car..and try to push and pull the tie rod up and down..there joints..you should have hardly any up and down movement..another way is to jack the car up and move the tire side to side the tire should have little movement...hope that helps
