just wondering about some stuff....

i was just thinking, i will prolly get new LCA's sometime soon cause one of mine is bent a little from god knows what, but also, i dont want to spend the money on everything else to make my car ride better and be stronger if i can do it myself. If i was able to actually make stuff (like subframe connectors, relocation brackets for LCA's, panhard bar, and strut tower brace) would this stuff work just fine for me or is there stuff that i "really should consider" before trying to make my own stuff. i would prolly use angle iron or something for the SFC's, and then just 1/4" flat stock steel or something and weld up some relocation brackets and then brackets for a strut tower brace and weld a tube or something like that to them. i know i could manage to make the stuff but i was wondering what you guys think about home grown parts? any oppinions or ideas?

Re: just wondering about some stuff....

I think that it wouldn't be that much cheaper to do it yourself. As for SFC's at least use #80 pipe and not angle. For LCA's I've seen people weld some pipe into the channel and then change the bushings, but they have spent about $50 and why not spend annother 40 to get the real thing. I would personally be against home fabrication, just because these things are actually engineered and not just what they pulled out of their @$$.
