Leaf springs

My son's 81 Camaro was leaning to the right side.He has a parts car so we swapped the shocks and it is still leaning.Could this mean that the leaf springs are worn out?If so,is this something that could be done safely at home? When you unbolt them do they want to recoil?I just have no idea how much pressure they are under and if this could be done safely without specialized tools. Thanks guys.

Yes it sounds like the springs and yes you can change them at home.

Find a spring shop and get a new set installed ... had to do the same to my '81 Z28 ... it was sagged pretty bad in the back, and after the new springs, it sat nice, and rode better too!!
