Line Lock leak?

Does anyone with the SLP line lock havea problem wit hit leaking? If so, how did you seal it? I put some RTV around all the bolts adn it still leaks, but it has stopped. ANy ideas?

Re: Line Lock leak?

leaks? as in around the fittings?

if so, RTV won't do it (Brake fluid is over 1000psi typically when you press on the pedal). You need to take it apart and put the right fittings in; my guess if it's leaking it's got the wrong brake fittings.

Oh, and this is a VERY unsafe condition in which you could loose your brakes due to it leaking brake fluid.

SLP Line Lock Leak

I know this is a vintage post, but I just installedaline lock and have the same problem. It is leaking from the lower connection.

How did you fix it?

Buy some Locktite thread sealer. Make sure both the line and the adapter fitting are coated and tight. Make sure the line lock itself is screwed together. I believe it comes apart so you can rebuild it. I tried fixing the leak and wound up making it worse since I had trailered it to an indoor show over the winter and after parking it found a puddle of fluid under it. I had tried to pull the lines off and seal them with thread sealer. I managed to overtighten the lower fitting and stripped it. I had to get a new line from the bottom of the line lock into the ABS. I made sure that the solenoid was screwed all the way tight and then both the adapter and the line had sealer on the threads. It is now bone dry after driving it twice and checking it.
