Angry Lower control arms BMR lca's

I tried to install my BMR lca's today, but gave up. I jacked both sides up, put jack stands on the frames. I started with the driver side. I got the 1 bolt off at rear end, but the other bolt on the sfc, I couldn't get it budge. I sprayed wd40, let soak, but nothing. I just had surgery on my left wrist with a plate put in, so it's kinda hard for me anyway to be doing this. How much do you think it would cost to pay a shop to install my lca's?

Shouldn't be that much, my place only charged $20.

I hope it's that cheap here. I would just like to do them myself, but my wrist won't let me, plus I don't want to risk rehurting it. i really shouldn't be doing anything with it yet.

Re: Lower control arms BMR lca's

I can tell you right now that the bolt at the front of the LCA (goes through the end of the SFC) is a royal pain in the butt ! I have pulled that bolt out a couple of times and it can be incredibly difficult. Usually it requires some pressure on the back side of the hex flange with a large blade screwdriver while you ratchet the bolt out of the hole. It generally will start to walk itself out. Hope that helps, but if I just had surgery on my wrist I think I would pay someone $20 or $30 bucks to do my LCA's. JMO

I just upgraded to the the EXTREME CM-LCA's (BMR)

Good luck

I wouldnt have charged you anything at my shop

To the thread starter, it might cost more to drive, but if you come over to Salem I'll put them in for free.

I also had subframe connectors installed at the same time, so I just did both at once. But it's good to know I can stop by for some work.

Wierd, I pulled my stockers and installed BMR's, then put the stokers back on a few K miles later, I had NO problems at all, the nuts were a little tight, but they came off with a little effort?

Thank you Bersaglieri, I appreciate your offer. Too bad i'm not a little closer to you. I'll just take it to a few shops around here and see what they say. Thanks again.
