Lowered my Z28 - Love it!

I had my car lowered yesterday.

This is the hight they should have been from the factory.
It's only a 1.5" lower but......it makes quite a big difference.

I'm not sure if I'm imagining things but the ride seems to be a bit smoother now.....

I really noticed it when I went to fill up with fuel - just that I had to lean over to get the nozzle in.....neat.

I did springs only.

They are Suspension Technique Speedtech springs.

When it stops raining here I'll clean up my car and take some pics.

1.5 and more is a LOT on these cars. Changes the geometry a decent bit.

Your going have to redo it and put either some revavles or Konis on there, you can loose that much supesnion travel and think the stock shocks (which are really bad at dampening) to do that job!

Also i would get a adj panhard bar, and a good alignment and some LCA's lowering to help the angles of the supesnsion.

Good suggestions - thanks!

When I get some more cash I will look at doing some of those.

I don't quite understand what you are meaning when you talk about the shocks and the suspension travel.......can you elaborate?

Less supension travle 1.5 lower makes your supension have to do the same amount of work in 1.5 less distance thats a lot. Also the rates of lowering springs are really big 300-650 foot pounds. The stock shocks are really really poor at controlling the car, then you put springs on it, the stock shocks are really totally useless.

so the revalves or the Konis can provide proper damping for the new supestion. there very nice. The adju panhard bar can help adjust your rear end since yoru lowering so much. Most people that low do the LCA relocation brackets and sometimes its hard to align it if the right adjustable parts are not used. 1.5 is pretty low and some lower more even though it says 1.5

Most people want to lower the car anot change anything for the look and mess up the ride etc. Doing it right is very important.

Good luck
