Lowering on 17x11 315/35

Does anyone have actual experience with this? I want to do an Eibach Prokit but I just put the 315's on and I dont know if they will rub. Searching yielded no results but maybe I didnt search for the right thing. Help me please.

Does he have 315's mounted on a 9.5" rim? He must because I test fitted a front wheels and there is about enough room to slide a rag between the control arm and the inner edge of the wheel. No way an 11" rim would fit up front unless it stuck out 1".

The driver side rubs around hard right hand turns. I think an adj panhard would solve that problem.

yes, i have a 94Z w/ eibach prokit and konis and 17x11 315 kumhos for autox

the adj panhard centered it, and just had to pound the crap out of several places in the wheelwell. it was still buzzing a few times on the runs, so i pounded a bit more and took a dremel to the bumpstop bracket. now it works fine w/ no touching

have not rolled fenders, but they are pretty close

What about just doing your own wheel wells? That could be like like aweekend project

I've got that combo on a covertible

Just did it not too long ago. I have a little rubbing but that just means I have to take the wheels off and get a bigger hammer

My car has the stock suspension height with 17x11's in the back, and I only had rubbing when someone's in my back seat. It rubbed pretty bad when I had two people in the back (talk about rare), but a hammer fixed the rubbing permanently. I would imagine that the Eibach kit would be just fine, and I'll probably lower mine eventually.

I have 17x11 in back and they only rub when I corner REALLY hard and the body sways (need better shocks) and it's only on the drivers side, I need to readjust the adj PHR. But I'm lowered on DMS springs and that seems to take it a bit lower than the pro kit a BFH was needed

I also have 315's on a lowered vert - looks awesome (IMHO).

Be aware that most folk who have to use the BFH are using a wheel that is similat to the 11x17 vette gs wheel, it has an offset of ~50mm.
a smaller offset eg 35mm will put the tire away from the inner wheel well and place it more to the exterior of the car (eg sticks out).

in this case the hammer is not needed but rolling the fenders may be, depending on how much it's lowered.

I'm using the ~56MM GS offset wheel and the G-Force KD tire - I had to use a baby sledge on the inner wheel well, grind off the bumpstop so the wheel would not hang when the car was raised and I could roll the fenders a bit

some pictures
side - see the tire is flush with the body

Very cool ride! Those wheels look polished not chrome. Are they? Did you have to pound a lot to get them to not rub.

they are polished - I though that chrome would be too much given the colour of the car - I did not want the wheels to be the major focus point.

I did not have to pound to much - it's sort of trial and error - you see where ir rubs as soon as you put the tire on - pound there till it rotates freely and then go for a drive - again you'll find some new spots and remove tire and pound again - the metal is quite hard where it needs to be "adjusted" so you can give some mighty whacks. it was the only time I could let myself vent on the car

you will need and adjustable panhard rod and before you use the BFH you need to center the rear using the APHR.

i have about 26.5 inches from the ground to the top of the wheel well, with 315/35-17s and there's plenty of space. before the PHB, left wheel was sticking out and right wheel was tucked in a bit too far, so PHB fixed that. Other than that, no problems

I've got the prokit and 17x11 50mm offset in the rear. With the adjustable panhard rod I only had to grind down the drivers side bumpstop, I pounded the driver side wheel well a little too but I think if I had started with the bumpstop I would not have had to. BTW, with fill throttle drifting at mid-ohio no rubbing. But the 50mm offset allows this, If I went with the 36 (as some do for looks, it sticks out farther) I would have needed to roll the fender lips. You NEED the adj panhard rod either way.
