Lowering Car

I am thinking of buying the intrax 2 inch lowering springs.

Would it be an alright set up to use stock everything besides the intrax springs and an alignment?

I will be running 275-40 tires with 17 inch rims.

thanks

Re: Lowering Car

2 inch is a little too much, IMO. Your bumpstops will be working over-time...
Also, are you after looks first, or handling first?

Re: Lowering Car

I guess those springs will have to do then, but don't be surprised if your car's handling actually get worse after the springs. Actually, would you happen to know the rates on those springs?

Re: Lowering Car

Would it be a lot less hassle and not even require a re-alignment and still produce a better look if I just went with some bmr 1 inch lowering springs?

Re: Lowering Car

You will need a realignment with the BMR springs as well.....
IMO, springs should be chosen on the basis of performance, not looks. And F-bodies don't like to be lowered too much, since lowering too much throws off the suspension geometry. If you are going to drop the car by two-inches, those springs better have the rate to handle that change in suspension geometry, and higher the spring rate, the harsher the ride.
A decent kit that handles well and makes the car look good at the same time is the LS1 Eibach Pro-kit. Or if you don't mind spending another $200, you can get the height-adjustable coil-overs from Ground Control. And while you are upgrading the springs, you might want to look into some better shocks also. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Re: Lowering Car

Thanks for the help.

So the eibach pro-kit is the best choice to use with stock equipment?
