Lowering Springs affect ET?

I've been thinkng of lowering my car lately but I was just wondering how they affect your ET at the drag strip. Because I do like to occasionally take my car to the strip, but I also like the look of the lowered stance. Any input would be appreciated.

Typically lowering a car can hurt transferring weight to your rear tires when launching, hurting your 0-60 time.

The biggest factor is when you lower your car, the rear control arms will no longer be parallel to the ground. This will hurt your traction. It can be corrected with the Spohn LCA relocation brackets we sell (part # SS210). They also have multiple mounting positions that allow you even improve your pinion angle over stock for MORE traction. They are a real bargin for 65.00 too

I see. Those relocation brackets sound awesome. Just $65? You only have to buy one set right? Thanks for all the help!

Yes you only need one set. They are a great bang for the buck (one of the best for your 60 foot).

Did you experiment with the different bolt positions to change the pinion angle?

What tires were you running?

If you didn't have enough available traction, no amount of pinion angle is going to improve ET's. However, going from stock to a positve pinion angle (which happens when you lower without LCA brackets) usually will hurt your 60 foots.

I have the spoon relocation brackets. i used the lowest setting. its a tad on the negative side. I was running a 13.1 before, and am still - right around the 110mph mark. i never realy had that good of traction, and also, my clutch is slipping. need a bigger rear, new clutch, and some sticky tires.

You definitely need a working clutch and stick tires to get a good 60 foot time. LCA brackets should have no effect on MPH as that is an indication of the HP of the motor, not a function of traction.
