LS1 brake upgrade a success - one problem...
After my alignment, now whenever i turn left at above 25 mph, i hear a slight groaning noise and get a subtle vibration in the steering wheel, anyone know what this could be?
i'm stumped on this one :P

edit: could it be my brakes rubbing? i just replaced my front/rear brakes when i did the swap. I checked the wheel hubs/bearings before i put them on and they didn't seem sloppy at all.... surprising considering it came from a junk yard hehe (the knuckles/calipers)

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing/hub to me. Did you reuse your old ones, or did the conversion include the bearings/hub.
If you have another set of bearings from the install, try swapping them in.
You won't need to get an alignment just by changing the bearings/hub. Might be worth a try.

Sounds like a wheel bearing hub. Did you buy your brake conversion on Ebay? Thats where I got mine and while the rotors looked OK. The spindels looked rusty like they had been out in the weather for quite awhile. With-in 3-5 months both wheel bearings went bad despite having less than 50k on them.

used stock LT1 lines - they reach fine (i actually bought LS1 lines too and theyre the same length, just a little bit thicker - i might swap them over later though)
ill try the spindle idea, hopefully that'll get it. I'll just use my old spindles - as far as i know they're still OK to use....
if that doesn't get it, i dont know what will :-\
and yes, everything is torqued correctly
i believe 35 lb/ft on the upper A-Arm castle nut, 81 lb/ft on the lower and i think 41 on the tie rod castle nut

It's very easy to get the wheel bearings off. Just disconnect the ABS sensor on the back, and then unbolt the 4 bolts on the back of the spindle holding the bearing on. Then you might need to tap the bearing a little to get it loose. Be careful though, you don't want to put a lot of shock into the bearing. Try to hit it on the part that doesn't rotate, the part that mates right up to the spindle.

yeah, sorry - i meant to say the wheel hubs are the same on LT1/LS1 camaros lol

Yes, you can reuse your old ones as long as they were holding up o.k. If the old ones were good before the swap, you should be fine. When they start to go bad, then buy new ones.
