ls1 upgrade completed
well I finally had time to do it, after having the parts sit in my kitchen floor for a month. It wasn't difficult, but it was time consuming, the lower ball joints just would not let go of the steering knuckle, I hammered and WD-40ed and PB-Blastered the driver side for almost 3hours, passenger side almost 1.5 hours, that ate up most of my time today. I didn't think I would ever get them off.
I did notice that the rubber on the driver side ball joint is torn, I was not about to try to fix that today, as I need my car for work this week. It'll have to just be that way until Im ready to tackle replacing it. I used the C5 Corvette brake lines, they were the proper length so I did not have to bend the LT1 hard lines. I had to dremel off a tab on the line so they would fit thru the hole to attach to the hardline, no real problem. bled the the brakes, and I was good to go. I was so tired after the install, I forgot the blocks of wood I had behind the rear tires, when I reversed, I sent one flying, no damage though. Tommorrow I am going to take it in for an alignment.
