LT1 to LS flex lines

I'm putting togeather the necessary parts for the poplular LT to LS front brake conversion. I've read several topic related posts, reviewed the part numbers from a few, and now I'm down just just this last item. Flex lines.

The one lingering question I have, relates to the flex line length. Are the 98and newer flex lines (22163505, 22163506) long enough? At least one post mentions that the LS flex lines are barely long enough... Or, should I consider the C5's (10333772)?

Those of you who have done the conversion with any of the parts above, would you do it again with the same parts or would you order custom made / length lines? If you went custom length, how much longer than the OE part that you used? I'm leaning toward this angle myself, all prices and things considered.

Thanks for reading my post and lending your advice and opinion.

From what I have read, the C5 lines are the ones to use.

Plain ol' LT1 lines would be fine.

I've had LS1 front brakes on the car long enough now to have used braided line kits from two different companies (Russell and Techna-Fit). I've had no problems using the LT1 lines.

Just to be safe I bent the mounting tabs down when I originally did the swap but it probably wasn't necessary.

Do the Lt1 rubber lines fit directly onto the LS1 calipers?

Thank you,

Yes, the LT1 lines fit directly on LS1 calipers. - This is the way I did my conversion.

The lt1 one fit but its too tight for my taste.

I would get sonme c5 ones(ive tried both). They are cheap and will give you some loose.

Same here, I used C5 hoses and they give plenty of slack at full lock.

I made a post on here a while back about this. I tried the LT1 rubber hoses and some aftermarket stainless ones for an LS1 car. The LS1 units would not allow me to steer at all unless I bent the factory mounting tab a significant amount. I wasn't comfortable with bending the hard line without any type of mandrel or bender to keep it from kinking.

That said, I just had some rubber hoses made at a local hydraulic shop that were a few inches longer than the stock LT1 hoses. I wanted stainless, but needed the car back and this was a walk in and walk out with hoses 15 minutes later job. I think they cost $26 or so for the pair.

After the fact, I've heard that C5 hoses are the way to go. If you go that route, it would be great if you'd post the lengths of the hoses to help out others doing this swap in the future.
