LT1-LS1 brake swap

Hi guys I'm new on here, my question is how tricky is it to swap the newer brakes onto my 1996 Trans Am? My calipers are leaky, so I thought I would try the swap. Do the new calipers fit on the same spindles? is the proportioning valve gonna be set right? do I still order 1996 rotors?
Sorry, that's more than one question, but I just want to know if this is going to work because I want better brakes without forking over thousands of dollars for wilwood or baer systems.

You can start hear for the step-by-step instructions:

http://www.fbody.com/tech/details.cgi?id=30

Also, being you're new, this would be good thing to do anyways. Do a search for "LS1 Brake Upgrade"...you'll get more then enough threads explaining what parts you'll need. The search function in the row of function below the header showing what forum you are in and right above the supporting vendor information.

The brake swap is usually covered on the "Suspension, Chassis and Brakes" forum. I'll move the post there for you.
