LT1 to LS1 brakes

I know this is a popular uprgrade and I have done searches on it but havent gotten the answers i was lookin for. Here we go. Is there a site that sells a complete conversions specifically for LT1's? If not should I buy them off a parted out car or buy them seperately on a website? If I buy them off a site what brands should I look for? How much is this swap looking to cost for any of the above? I got a basic idea of whats needed but can I get a list just in case someone might have forgot something? Any help is appreciated or if someone that has done this before direct me in the right path. I also noticed some sites selling complete upgrades for the LT1 (not LS1 brakes) and was wondering if these would perform just as good? Thanks.

Best place to get what you need is either from a parted out car, a junkyard, or Ebay. I bought mine from Ebay, paid about $150 shipped.

You will need LS1 spindles, calipers w/brackets, and rotors. It's also nice if you can get the bearing hubs, but you can swap them from your spindles if not.

Re: LT1 to LS1 brakes

I tried the LT1 lines and didn't like the fit. I bought some Corvette lines and they are perfect. Buy brake lines for a '98-up LS1 Corvette. They are just the right length and bolt right up to the calipers. The bracket on the frame even fit with a tiny bit of grinding on the driver's side. It was the best solution I could find to the brake line problem on the swap.

Yeah Ive always wondered about that... if you can upgrade to LS1 brakes and LS1 guys go with C5 brakes... can C5 brakes be done reasonably on a LT1?
