Lug Nut Stud

I stripped the stud for one of the lugs. Where can I get another one and what is the pitch/lenght? To remove the old one I just have to hammer it out right?

12mm - 1.5, with a 0.50X knurl, stock length is approx 2" (I'll check that when I get home). Probably a "dealer" item, because of the unique knurl diameter. You can hammer it out, but risk damage to the wheel bearings if you beat it too hard.

Re: Lug Nut Stud

i'm a little stuck since i dont know much about wheel studs
i need new ones for my 87 camaro because i'm doing an ls1 brake upgrade, and the dorman part is 610-323
i cant find this part anywhere
the website gives specs for the stud
Attributes:
Type : Serrated Stud
Thread : M12-1.5
Knurl Dia. : 12.80mm
Length : 54mm
Shoulder Length : 8mm
Head Code : 323

i understand the pitch/thread and the length

but i dont understand serrated stud, knurl dia, shoulder length or head code, so i'm having difficulty matching these studs up to the ones autozone offers

Re: Lug Nut Stud

"Serrated stud" means its a stud with a knurl

12.8mm is the diameter of the knurl, or about 0.504"

The "shoulder" is the length of the knurl (~0.315"), which has to match the thickness of your hub flanges.

Not sure what the head code represents, but it should be a flat head.

That sounds like a stock 4th Gen wheel stud.

Re: Lug Nut Stud

Yeah, I plan on removing them to replace wheel bearings also so it won't be a problem.

Re: Lug Nut Stud

thanks for the info injun
its for my ls1 upgrade on my 3rd gen
i found a supplier for dorman only to find that my hubs use a different knurl than most 3rd gen hubs, its about a 14.3-14.5 knurl diameter
so 610-323 wont work for me, but thanks anyway
