this should probably be in the suspension section. madman is the only one i know of. one of my freinds did the manual rack conversion on his car with madman parts and it was a nightmare. he put in the k-member with the pinto rack mounts and the pinto rack and steering shaft kit made for an f-body from madman. the rack bolted to the k member just fine but the steering shaft would have to run through the headder and motor mount to even come close to working. we ended up having to cut the mounts off the k-member an moving them over a few inches to get the steering shaft to turn without binding. we also had to cut a section out ofthe drivers side tie rod and weld it back together to compensate for shifting the rack over.

this i just a cautionary tale. if you decide to go this route i would recomend getting the k-member with the stock mounts and the stock style manual rack. it is more expensive but definately worth the extra cost.

or just take your p/s pump out and use the stock rack and pinion w/o assistance from the pump. right?

It was just a thought.... But yeah i figured it wouldn't be fun, but i couldn't see it being too hard to turn w/ skinnies. Either way I see how it would be unsafe.
