Mix stock Z28 rear and Eibach front springs?

The rear of our new 1999 Camaro SS seems to sit too low in comparison
to the front. The car has Eibach black/gray springs all around. I would
like to bring the rear up, and have a set of good Z28 rear springs. What
is the rate comparison between these, would I unbalance the car by the
mixing of these springs? Maybe its better to order some SS rear springs?

I have no idea concerning the spring rates. However, you may be able to insert a spring spacer on topof the coil spring (in the pcoket) to get up to 1" of rise in height. Spring spacers are usually available from off-road truck outlet. If I remember correctly, the stock springs have a rubber cap at the top to help keep them quiet. If you put a spacer between that cap and the car chassis pocket that should raise the car but maintain the characteristics of the springs.

if you dont have adjustable shocks I wouldnt put two different spring rates in a car. What purposes will the car be serving?
You say "our ss" is this a shop car? Is it a special build?

Your rear spring rate is (LS1) 114 lbs/in. To get a higher spring rate you need to get the 1LE rear springs which has a 130 - 180 lbs/in.
If you have the LT1 prokit you have a rear spring rate of 94 - 160 lbs/in.
with the LS1 prokit your rear spring rate is 80 - 137 lbs/in.

FYI, it will change your front caster a little, not enough to cause any problems, just a fyi in case you have to have your front caster at a certain #.

Thanks for the responses so far, the '99 SS has the pro-kit for the LS1 from
what I can determine. It isnt the red super low ones. The car was done a
few years ago by the original owner. It is to be my wifes daily driver. With
the rear sitting low, I fear it scraping stuff. I like the front height, but it is
pretty obvious the rear sits lower than the front by eyeballing the gaps. The
idea of using the Z28 rears is I have PLENTY of used ones - they are all LT1.
I also have a set of '94 Firebird rears I could use. I just figured if the rates
are the same (just lowered) than I could use the Z28 stockers to get the car
to sit level. I like the idea of the spacer above the stock spring rubbers. This
would be fairly easy to make from some old tire material.

I hope that makes more sense. So the stock Z28 spring rate is 114?

The "higher" I am refering too is physical height, not spring rate, I just do not
want to drastically screw up the balance by using stock LT1 Z28 in place of
the Eibach lowering.

The factory LT1 rear springs; 110 lbs/ in.

The easiest for you to do would be the LT1 rear springs with the "hose mod." that would give you a slight drop from the factory rear stock height.
But would still give you plenty of suspension travel, and if you still want it higher you can always put the rear upper spring isolators back on.

OK ... I give up, whats the hose mod? Removing the upper
insolators and putting rubber hose on the spring coil??
